A bit about us Amar & I met in 1981 at Heriot Watt university in Edinburgh, where I was studying accountancy & finance and he was completing a Master's degree in Business Management. After we graduated I went on to work in retail management and Amar spent 5 years running a busy French restaurant in Edinburgh before moving on to lecture Hospitality students at Napier university. After 15 years of hard work we decided to leave the stress of city life behind and build a business for ourselves - but what? And where? Amar's love of cooking (our friends were always well entertained at our house!) and my persistence in having to get all the little details just right inspired us to open an hotel - one where we hoped that people would feel that they weren't just another number, with all the comforts of home and more to hand, a place where you could just relax and be yourself, a place that we would love to find ourselves…. An impromptu Sunday drive led us to Innerleithen and Caddon View, which was the original doctor's house. By sheer coincidence it was for sale so we paid a visit, fell in love with it and the rest is history! 7 years, 2 children and a lot of hard work later (who said life would be easier?!! ) we have never looked back. Never ones to rest on our laurels we are constantly striving to change and improve to offer the very best we can. Of course we realise that we're not perfect (we are human after all!) but our visitor's comments would prove that for the main part we seem to have got it right. We hope so.
